Andrea Weiß has worked on marine protection issues from a legal, policy and science perspective since 1997. She held the postion of Deputy Secretary of the OSPAR Commission for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the North-East Atlantic from 2004 to 2011. Since then, she has served as a science officer at the marine protection unit of the German Environment Agency. She is a German lawyer by profession.
