Dr. Qiao, an Academician of International Eurasian Academy of Sciences, Editor-in-chief of Ocean Modelling, EPG member of UN Ocean Decade, co-chair of IOC/WESTPAC, and chair Professor on physical oceanography at FIO of MNR of China. His research covers ocean and climate model development, ocean mixing and air-sea interaction etc. He develops the non-breaking surface wave-induced vertical mixing theory and the first climate model with the non-breaking wave-induced mixing, and the common biases in ocean and climate models are dramatically reduced. He received numerous scientific honors and awards, with more than 300 publications.
