Oda Keppler is the Head of Directorate 72 “Sustainability; Provision for the Future” at the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
She is responsible for research policy in the areas of climate research including socioeconomic aspects, biodiversity, renewable energy, ecology, the Earth system, geology, and Arctic and marine research.
Following her second state examination in law, she started her career in 1987 as a legal advisor at Forschungszentrum Jülich. Since 1990, she has been serving in various positions at the BMBF, with a focus on national and international large research infrastructures, and has represented the Federal Government in several supervisory bodies.
