Coastal and Marine Adviser, Secretariat of Pacific Environmental Programme, Samoa
Dr. Peter Davies has been working at the interface of science and management of coastal and marine resources for over 30 years. He has expertise in coastal oceanography and geochemistry, remote sensing, mapping of marine habitats and design of protected areas. As coastal and marine ecosystem adviser at SPREP, his work now focuses on the Pacific, and coral reefs are amongst the most important and threatened habitats in the region. The program for coral reefs in the Pacific islands will ensure that the traditional custodians of these reefs have access to resources and knowledge to manage their reefs in a changing world.
