Taylor Goelz, MS/MPP, is Program Manager for the Energy & Environment Program (EEP)’s Shipping Decarbonization Initiative for the Aspen Institute. Within this role, Goelz applies her experience of collaborative science policy and partnership to help the Cargo Owners Zero Emission Vessel Initiative (coZEV) engage multinational businesses and US policymakers to accelerate the decarbonization of maritime shipping.
Prior to joining Aspen, Goelz served as a John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellow with NOAA Research, focusing on US engagement, outreach and strategic planning for the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030).

Her expertise spans the spectrum of marine resource management, from participatory decision-making processes for oyster management to finance mechanisms for coastal resilience.
Goelz holds both a master’s in marine science and a master’s in public policy through William & Mary and the Virginia Institute of Marine Science’s dual degree program. She received her bachelor’s in environmental science from the University of San Diego.
